Tesla Easter eggs

If you aren’t familiar with Tesla’s many hidden easter eggs then read on! With Easter just around the corner, we thought it would be fun to share some of these hidden gems with you. Which Tesla Easter Egg is your favourite?

Back to the future phone app

Available with the Model S, 3, X and Y, you can activate this easter egg at exactly 121km range by touching the battery icon inside the Tesla mobile app to launch. This mobile app only easter egg will launch a pop up “Time circuits off” and “Be sure to reset your clock for temporal displacement”. The name of the car changes to “OUTATIME” within the app and “Charging scheduled” changes to “Time circuits on”. Other changes include “121km” changing to “121 GW” and the charging tab changes to “Fuel Chamber”. The vehicles’ location also changes to one of the movies filming locations – all fun throwbacks to this iconic film.

Rainbow chargeport light

Available with the Model S, 3, X and Y, this fun easter egg will have you seeing rainbows. When the car is plugged in, push the chargeport control button on the charger 10 times in quick succession. The chargeport light will cycle through all the colours of the rainbow.

Sketchpad

Available with the Model S, 3, X and Y, the sketchpad easter egg can be activated by quickly tapping the Tesla T at the bottom of the touchscreen’s display three times. Activation of the sketchpad turns your vehicle’s display into a place where you can draw a picture and submit your image to Tesla!

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy 

Available with the Model S, 3, X and Y, this easter egg pays homage to the Douglas Adam classic. Activate by saving your car’s name as “42” in the “About your Tesla” menu on your touchscreen display. The name of your car will now change to “Life, the Universe and Everything”.
