Find a charger

If you’re unfamiliar with the charging network that’s ok! There are many apps that can help you find the closest one, but your Tesla in-car navigation will assist you to find the most convenient one for your journey. If you’re using a public charging station (more about these later!), then be sure to check ahead if they’re in operation and if they are compatible with your cable.

Connect your car to the charger

Now that you’ve found yourself a charger, it’s time to connect your car. Make sure your EV is turned off before plugging your cable in.

Payment and member verification

Typically you will be required to present an RFID or app to be able to use the charging station.

Start. Stop. session complete!

Your electric car should now start charging – the time to charge varies depending on the charger, but the information on how long should be easy to source and will give you a good idea of what to expect! Generally in Australia chargers will provide 7 kW which adds 30 kilometers of range per hour.

Supercharging your Tesla rental car – Sydney

Superchargers are only accessible to Tesla’s – and with locations positioned along major routes throughout Australia as well as inner city areas, you’re bound to be covered. Superchargers have their own cable, so all you need to do is simply pick up the cable and plug it in.

Charging your Tesla at public charging stations

While you are able to charge your Tesla at public charging stations, be sure to find out what socket is provided. Chargers can vary between a Type 2 socket (a Type 2 cable can be ordered as an aftermarket accessory) and others offer a domestic socket.
